Support Ontario Youth launches portal to support women in trades

March 10, 2023 – As part of its efforts to attract and assist female apprentices, Support Ontario Youth published a new section on its website aimed specifically at women in the trades.

A registered charity, SOY works with apprentices, employers, and industry stakeholders to identify gaps in apprenticeship learning and training, and help those directly involved by supporting, mentoring, and guiding their efforts to help streamline and modernize trade pathways.

This dedicated section also addresses support for employers, showing why female apprentices are valuable assets, with information on the supports SOY can offer throughout the hiring, training, mentoring, and funding processes.

It also provides a networking page, linking various organizations that specialize in promoting, supporting, and funding women’s apprenticeships.
