April 10, 2023 – One of the top issues negatively impacting construction contractors right now and into the foreseeable future is a shortage of skilled labour.

What if you could double the size of the talent pool?

Held on International Women’s Day 2023, attendees of Women in Construction learned strategies from our expert moderators and panelists for both recruiting women and retaining them in their construction businesses, and for tackling issues of harassment in the workplace.

SESSION DESCRIPTION – Rebecca Kragnes is Director, Indigenous Relations and Community Engagement, with Bird Construction. A member of the Mètis Nation of Alberta, she was born and raised in Treaty 8 Territory in the Fort McMurray region. She is an advocate for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, focused on amplifying Indigenous and female participation in the construction industry.

She is a Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician with more than 25 years of experience in the construction industry.
