By Don Horne
“You’re listening to the voice of Canada’s crane & hoist industry…”
You’ve enjoyed the magazine and found the latest news and events online; now Crane & Hoist Canada magazine is coming to you with a new podcast format, On the Hook.
This podcast is specifically tailored for the crane and hoist sector, and speaks to the issues facing today’s crane and hoist industry, its operators, vendors and those out on the job sites.
Listen to Episode One, The Opioid Crisis in the Construction Industry
We examine in depth the new technology and safety measures being introduced across Canada, the concerns and experiences from operators, and the challenges of replacing decades of experience as many choose retirement in the next five years.
We hope that you will give us a listen and reach out to us with your stories to help make our industry bigger and better than ever before.
Here are just a few of the themes we will be talking about in the weeks and months to come:
Just what is going on?
An open discussion on any topic of interest within the industry. Anything goes, and anyone from the C-Suite to the guy who is only one week on the job can have their say.
What’s new, What’s working, What you need
We’re talking about new tech in the industry, new products, new workplace safety measures that can benefit the industry. Your company must have some great things going on – we’d love to hear about it and share with our listeners.
Who will be replacing our operators?
Like any industry, it is aging, and we are losing experienced workers to retirement. So, how do we deal with this?
We are calling on those in the human resources field who can identify solutions; those who are retiring and those who have just joined the workforce that have some first-hand experience on what can put new operators into seats and into the air.
You tell us
You have an idea, something you want to share with our listeners?
